A Look at 0, 00 and Row Payouts in Roulette Published on August 18th, 2018 8:40 pm EST There are two types of roulette wheels - the American roulette wheel and the European roulette wheel. The American roulette wheel features the green 0 and 00, while the European roulette wheel features just the single green 0. A roulette wheel in the U.S. Contains 38 equally sized spaces. The wheel is spun and a ball randomly lands in one of these spaces. Two spaces are green and have numbers 0 and 00 on them. The other spaces are numbered from 1 to 36. By contrast, the odds of hitting 0 in roulette are pretty low (2.70%). Yet, those are the highest odds for winning with this type of bet because the American version offers slightly smaller odds. American roulette strategy where I will bet on the zero ( 0 ) and double zero ( 00 ), plus red or black. Lets say that I just hope to get any zeros hit on le.

I know how to play roulette very well, but since it has been a few years since I have played, there is one bet with a chip placement that I forgot about and need some help.
If I am sitting all the way on the right side of the american roulette table, then the green 0 and double 00 green are quite a distance for me to reach on my far left.Years ago,I was told by the roulette dealer that if I want to play a split 0/00 bet that instead of reaching all the way over on my left to place my chips on 0/00 green(for the split bet 17:1)...that I can simply place the chips at a sopt in front of me.
I simply forgot which 'spot'this was.I think it was were the line intersects in the upper middle between odd/19 to 36 and the 3rd 12.I'm not sure anymore. But I know for certain that in Alantic City,NJ,they let me place my split 0,00 green bets somewhere around the 3rd 12 area so that I did not have to reach across the roulette table everytime I got a seat on the right side of the table to place that bet.
Can anyone refresh my memory?

You can place that bet on the line separating the '2nd 12' and '3rd 12' bets.

Thanks Doc.
Yes,that seems to refresh my memory.I'll have to try that again in the new Sands Casino in Bethehem,Pa.Hope those green croupiers understand that bet and don't think that i'm trying to play split dozens which is allowed in UK casinos.
By the way,my original question was concerning 0 and 00 split, and the optional chip placement for those numbers. But I suppose there is no optional chip placement for either 'straight up' 35:1 on 0 or 00 other than directly on those numbers? If I have to reach all the way over again,I guess i'll just have to ask the dealer, right? No other way without asking or reaching?

The only way I've found to play the 0-00 individually is to actually place, or have the dealer place, the chips on the spots. On a single '0' wheel, the courtesy line does not apply, at least where I have played. Another player spotted me making that mistake and moved my chip for me. I couldn't get mad at him...it hit, and I was told by the dealer that it would not have paid in the incorrect location. Also, the gent was trying to let me know what had happened as it was going on...thanks!!!
The 0 and 00 in Roulette make a HUGE impact on the “house edge”

If you look closely at the roulette wheel you will notice that some roulette wheels have a single 0 and some have a 0 and a 00. Is one game better than the other? Does it matter which game you play? These are questions often asked by players who notice the difference, and for those players that never noticed the difference you will find out why you need to start paying better attention. It can have a huge effect on your wallet.

There are two different roulette wheels. The European (Euro) wheel has a single 0 and the American wheel has both the 0 and 00. This doesn’t seem like much of a difference but it has a HUGE impact on the “house edge” (casino advantage). The American wheel has a house advantage of 5.26% which is not very good for the player. The Euro wheel basically cuts that advantage in half (2.7%) by simply removing the 00. That means roulette players should always play the Euro wheel when available.

If the 0 or 00 were not on the board it would take away the casino advantage. When a player bets red or black he thinks he is getting an even odds bet. He thinks he has a 50% chance of being right. If this was true the casino would not be profitable, there would be no built-in house advantage. That green spot or spots makes all the difference in the world and insures that the casino will be profitable in the long-run.

In general, the odds of roulette are not very good for the player, but the biggest tip that can save you a lot of money is ALWAYS play on a wheel that only has one 0.
